There are numerous programs you can access depending on your profile

Federal Skilled Worker Program and Express Entry

The federal skilled worker program allows the Canadian government to recruit skilled workers from all over the world who wish to move to Canada,  in all provinces except Quebec. Applications are processed by the Express Entry system. Applicants who possess a job offer, a province nomination or a high ranking profile, will be invited to apply for permanent residence.

The Skilled Trades Immigration Program

The Skilled Trades Immigration program is also processed within the Express Entry database. It allows skilled immigration applicants – often professionals in the building industry, but also chefs – to apply for permanent residence according to their experience, qualifications, language abilities and ties with Canadian employers.

The Canadian Experience Class

The Canadian Experience Class is also processed by the Express Entry database. It allows foreign temporary workers to apply for permanent residence after 1 year of Canadian work experience and when demonstrating sufficient language skills.

Québec Immigration Programs

Québec, the only French-speaking province in Canada, benefits from privileged immigration laws which allow it to select foreign applicants who wish to settle in its beautiful province. Skilled workers with eligible profiles can create a profile in the Arrima database. They will be invited to submit a Quebec Certificate of Selection application according to their profile and local job market needs. Foreign French-speaking temporary workers with professional experience in Québec, as well as foreign French-speaking students who have completed a degree in Québec, may also settle in the province via the Québec experience program.

Provincial Programs

Every Canadian province (other than Québec) has its own immigration programs. They allow foreign students and workers who are already in the province to settle in and access permanent residence. These programs often require a job offer by a local employer. Provinces can also pick candidates profiled in the Express Entry in order to facilitate their settling in the province.

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot

The Atlantic immigration pilot is a federal program that allows Eastern maritime provinces to recruit skilled workers depending on the demographical and job market needs of New Brunswick, New Scotland, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador. This program requires a job offer by a local employer and work experience.

The Rural Communities Program

The rural communities program is a federal pilot program. It allows regions in need of strong economic development to benefit from the contribution of immigrants to respond to local job market needs. It is an employer-driven application.
