The Canadian Government plans to boost its programs to help immigrants working in healthcare get their permanent residence to deal with the pandemic. This group of immigrant workers already in Canada consists of people working in long-term homes and medical facilities or other essential services during the pandemic. The government will continue to implement measures to create new ways to acquire permanent residency.

Did you know that Canada has been welcoming a large number of healthcare professionals in the past years? Individuals with healthcare expertise are needed in every province of Canada. There are a number of different programs that can help. The Federal Skilled Worker program and the Quebec Skilled Worker program as well as the Provincial Nominee Programs worth considering.

Some Provincial Nominee Programs already started to invite immigrants to grow their healthcare provider sector. British Columbia has a program to draw in more health care workers, learn more about the province’s programs. Not all provinces go by the same measures. For example, Quebec continues to welcome only 500 health care professionals annually.

Almost all health care occupations are regulated in Canada. Professionals should hold the necessary Canadian certification, licensing, or authorization. Individuals need a Canadian assessment of their education as well as a proven record of experience and an English or French language test.
